Record of the Martin Family, 1760-1936

The Record of the Martin Family, 1760-1936 was compiled by Howard U. Martin to serve as a comprehensive genealogical ledger documenting several generations of the Martin lineage. Emerging from a tradition of mid-20th-century American family history projects, the work reflects a meticulous effort to preserve ancestral lines and vital statistics that might otherwise have been lost to time. It acts as both a private record for descendants and a contribution to the broader field of local American genealogy.

The publication focuses on the preservation of heritage, utilizing a structured format common to historical record-keeping of its era. Howard U. Martin’s design approach prioritized clarity and accessibility for family researchers, organizing complex relational data into a chronological narrative. While primarily intended for internal family distribution, its eventual availability through archival reproduction services has allowed it to be preserved as a reference tool for historians and those tracing regional ancestry.
