Reincarnation: A Study of the Human Soul in Its Relation to Re-Birth, Evolution, Post-Mortem States, the Compound Nature of Man, Hypnotism, Etc... - P

Originally published in 1893, this work by Dr. Jerome A. Anderson emerged during a period of significant Western fascination with Theosophy and Eastern spiritual traditions. Anderson, a physician by trade, approached the concept of reincarnation through a blend of occult philosophy and scientific inquiry, seeking to reconcile metaphysical beliefs with the emerging interests of the late 19th-century intellectual class.

The text serves as an exploration of the multi-layered constitution of the human being, detailing the transition of the soul through various post-mortem states and the evolutionary necessity of rebirth. While it was intended as a foundational guide for those interested in theosophical doctrine, it reflects the broader cultural movement of the era that sought to systematize spiritual experience, often drawing upon Sanskrit terminology and contemporary studies of hypnotism to bolster its arguments.
