Where it came from
Sakura Ganbaru! is a manga series centered on Sakura Kasugano, the iconic schoolgirl fighter from the Street Fighter Alpha series. Written and illustrated by Masahiko Nakahira, the work was published in the late 1990s as a spin-off of the Capcom fighting game franchise. The narrative explores Sakura's earnest journey to train under Ryu, capturing the lighthearted yet determined spirit of the character as she balances high school life with her ambitions in the martial arts world.
The 'Final Chapter - Graduation' serves as the emotional conclusion to the series. Nakahira, known for his dynamic and kinetic art style that deviates from traditional character models, intended to provide a grounded, character-driven resolution to Sakura's quest for growth. The work was well-received by fans of the series for successfully blending the intense aesthetic of fighting games with a heartfelt coming-of-age story, eventually earning a dedicated following among collectors of late-90s video game-related manga.
