Seri Tokoh Dunia 28: James Watt

The Seri Tokoh Dunia series, published by Animik World, emerged as a popular educational comic initiative in Indonesia intended to introduce historical figures to younger readers through a manga-inspired aesthetic. These volumes were part of a broader trend in Southeast Asian publishing during the early 2000s, which sought to make biography and history accessible by stripping away dense academic prose in favor of sequential art and digestible, narrative-driven storytelling.

This particular volume on James Watt focuses on his pivotal role in the Industrial Revolution and the refinement of the steam engine. The design follows the standard format for the series, utilizing simplified character archetypes and clear, instructional panels to simplify complex mechanical inventions for a lay audience. While the series was widely distributed in school libraries and local bookstores for its educational value, it remains a modest example of regional educational media, primarily recognized for its role in local literacy efforts rather than formal critical acclaim in the comics industry.
