Shachiku Kensei, Haishinsha ni Naru ~Black Guild Kaishain, Ukkari Kaisha-you Kaisen de S-kyuu Monster wo Aite ni Musou Suru Tokoro wo Zenkoku Haishin Shiteshimau~

Shachiku Kensei, Haishinsha ni Naru is a light novel series written by Kumano Genkotsu, emerging from the prolific Japanese web novel scene before transitioning into print. The narrative taps into the popular isekai and fantasy subgenres, specifically focusing on the plight of a overworked corporate drone, or shachiku, who inadvertently discovers that his mundane work-honed combat skills are overwhelmingly effective against high-level monsters, broadcasting these feats to a captivated public audience.

The design of the series centers on the juxtaposition of soul-crushing corporate culture with the high-stakes thrills of dungeon crawling. The illustrations accompanying the print volumes aim to capture this blend of comedic office tropes and epic action, catering to a demographic that appreciates the 'overpowered protagonist' trope. The work has been received as a satirical exploration of the Japanese work ethic, grounded in the fantasy power-fantasy tradition that continues to dominate light novel markets.
