Shingeki no Kyojin | 857 Nen - Mikasa Ackerman (doujinshi)

This doujinshi, titled 857 Nen - Mikasa Ackerman, was created by the artist Kurogoma as a fan-produced derivative work based on the popular manga and anime series Shingeki no Kyojin, or Attack on Titan. Doujinshi culture allows artists to explore alternative character perspectives or narrative threads outside the constraints of the original series, and this volume focuses on an evocative, non-canonical character study of Mikasa Ackerman. It was released within the vibrant Japanese independent publishing circuit, where creators often debut such works at events like Comiket.

The design and artistic approach reflect Kurogoma's distinct aesthetic, which emphasizes fluid, emotive linework to capture Mikasa’s reserved but intense personality. By shifting the focus toward a character-driven vignette, the work aims to offer readers a deeper, albeit unofficial, look at the isolation and strength inherent to the protagonist's journey. Like many high-quality doujinshi, it was received primarily by fans seeking to expand their collection with supplementary creative interpretations that deviate from the source material’s canonical timeline.
