Where it came from
Shinpi no Sekai - El-Hazard originated as a multimedia project in the mid-1990s, debuting primarily as an original video animation series before expanding into various manga adaptations. This specific volume by Tsubura Hidetomo serves as a serialized interpretation of the fantasy-adventure narrative, which follows a group of students transported to a mystical world where technology and magic intersect.
The character designs and world-building were crafted to blend traditional high-fantasy tropes with sci-fi elements, a hallmark of the mid-90s anime boom. Hidetomo's manga adaptation was received as a companion piece to the core OVA, offering fans a deeper look into the intricate lore and character dynamics that defined the franchise's enduring popularity within the cult classic anime circuit.
