Spin Spin Kurumi-chan

Spin Spin Kurumi-chan was serialized starting in 1938 in the girls' magazine Shojo no Tomo, created by the prolific illustrator and mangaka Matsumoto Katsuji. As one of the earliest examples of the 'kawaii' aesthetic in manga, the series introduced Kurumi-chan, a fashionable and spirited young girl whose daily life resonated deeply with young readers during the pre-war era.
