Where it came from
Story of Our Lives, created by the artist known as Sria, emerged as a notable entry within the independent webcomic and zine community. It serves as a visual exploration of character-driven narrative, focusing on intimacy and the quiet moments of interpersonal relationships. The work reflects a growing trend in digital-first storytelling, where self-published print collections serve to archive and elevate the status of serialized online art.
The aesthetic of this collection is defined by its clean line work and emotive character design, which prioritize psychological depth over elaborate background detail. Sria’s approach to the medium is characterized by a deliberate use of pacing and silence, inviting the reader to linger on the emotional stakes of the protagonists. Upon its transition from web-based installments to a physical volume, the collection was well-received by fans of the contemporary indie-manga style for its cohesive artistic vision and accessible yet poignant storytelling.
