Where it came from
Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Big Bang Mission!!! is a promotional manga series serialized in Saikyō Jump, illustrated by Nagayama Yoshitaka. It was produced to tie into the popular arcade card game of the same name, serving as a companion piece to the digital card-based battles that allow players to engage in cross-generational scenarios within the Dragon Ball franchise. The manga functions as a narrative expansion, providing visual context to the complex, non-canonical storylines that feature characters from across the anime and film iterations of the series.
Nagayama Yoshitaka designed the manga to translate the high-energy, multiversal combat of the arcade game into a sequential storytelling format. His approach emphasizes dynamic, action-heavy paneling that reflects the rapid power-ups and transformation sequences central to the game's appeal. Since its inception, the series has been received primarily by dedicated fans of the card game, recognized for its role in bridging the gap between the arcade experience and the broader Dragon Ball multimedia expansion.
