Where it came from
Tashika ni Watashi wa, Oyomesan ga Hoshii to Iimashita: Josou no Ouji-sama wa Okotowari! is a romantic comedy manga series created by the artist Wilhelmina. Published in the context of the Japanese seinen and shoujo demographic markets, the work fits into the genre of gender-bending narratives, a niche that explores complex social expectations regarding gender roles and romantic relationships through a lighthearted, comedic lens.
The narrative follows a protagonist who explicitly requests a wife, only to be confronted with a cross-dressing character who challenges these traditional expectations. Wilhelmina’s design and illustration style prioritize character-driven humor and classic shoujo-influenced aesthetics, focusing on the dynamic between the lead characters as they navigate their unconventional courtship. It is regarded as a niche title that caters to readers interested in trope-heavy, character-focused romantic storytelling.
