The Chronicle of Myo-Jin

The Chronicle of Myo-Jin is a seminal work within the independent manga landscape, created by the artist known as Jelly Bean. Emerging during a period of increased interest in character-driven, ethereal storytelling, the series was conceived as a meditation on identity and the passage of time. Its design is characterized by a minimalist aesthetic, favoring delicate line work and high-contrast ink patterns that distinguish it from the dense, action-oriented panels common in mainstream serialized manga of the era.

Upon its release, the volume was noted by critics for its atmospheric storytelling and the intentional ambiguity of its narrative structure. Jelly Bean focused on creating an immersive visual experience that relied heavily on negative space and symbolic imagery, a stylistic choice that was received with curiosity by collectors of avant-garde graphic literature. The work has since become a recognized piece of modern independent publishing, frequently cited for its stylistic cohesion and the author's precise control over pacing and tone.
