The Dungeon of Black Company, known in Japan as Meikyuu Black Company, began serialization in 2016 under Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Garden. Written and illustrated by Youhei Yasumura, the series serves as a satirical subversion of the popular isekai genre, focusing on Kinji Ninomiya, a shut-in protagonist who finds himself transported to a fantasy world where he is forced into grueling, unethical manual labor rather than becoming a heroic adventurer.

This sixth volume continues the narrative arc following the protagonist's attempts to exploit the fantasy world's economy while contending with the absurd realities of his employer. Yasumura's art style is characterized by expressive, often comedic character designs that highlight the frustration and cynicism of his lead character. The English-language release is published by Seven Seas Entertainment, which has been instrumental in bringing Yasumura’s commentary on late-stage capitalism and corporate culture to an international audience.
