The English portion of the library of ... Francis Wrangham [a catalogue, compiled by himself].

Published in 1826, this volume serves as a printed catalogue of the extensive personal library amassed by Francis Wrangham, an English clergyman and bibliophile known for his scholarly pursuits. Wrangham compiled this list himself, reflecting the rigorous intellectual habits of nineteenth-century book collecting, a period where private libraries were central to the identity of the educated gentry.

The catalogue documents a vast and eclectic collection that highlights the bibliographic interests of the era. Wrangham’s approach to cataloguing was deeply personal, capturing a snapshot of a private intellectual landscape before such collections were dispersed. Its design remains a significant historical reference for scholars tracking the circulation of early modern and nineteenth-century literature within private English collections.
