The Flickinger Family History, Including the Flickinger Families in the United States of America: With Andreas, Joseph, Johannes, Peter, Ulrich Flickinger, Colonists; and a Dozen Later Arrivals; Records and Tributes

Published in 1927 by the Reverend Robert Elliot Flickinger, this genealogical volume serves as a comprehensive record of the Flickinger lineage in America. It was meticulously compiled to preserve the history of various immigrant branches, specifically tracing descendants of early colonial arrivals such as Andreas, Joseph, Johannes, Peter, and Ulrich Flickinger. The author, a clergyman and dedicated historian, sought to consolidate scattered family archives and traditions into a single authoritative reference for future generations.

The work is characteristic of early 20th-century American genealogical scholarship, which often sought to connect families to their European roots while documenting their expansion across the American frontier. Flickinger utilized primary sources, including church records, land deeds, and correspondence with living family members, to construct the narrative. Though primarily intended for family distribution, it is highly regarded among genealogists for its effort to categorize distinct immigrant lines that might otherwise have remained undocumented.
