The Life of St. Paul

The Life of St. Paul by James Stalker was originally published in the late 19th century as part of a series of handbooks for Bible classes. Written by a prominent Scottish theologian, the work was intended to provide a concise, readable narrative of the apostle's life for students and laypeople. It emerged from a period of intense interest in historical-critical approaches to scripture, aiming to synthesize the biographical details found in the Acts of the Apostles with the Pauline epistles.

Stalker’s approach was noted for its balance between scholarly rigor and devotional accessibility. By organizing the apostle's life into thematic stages—such as his conversion, mission, and imprisonment—he created a structure that remained a standard reference for decades. The specific edition identified by ISBN 9781533618894 represents a modern reprint, ensuring the continued availability of a text that has served as a foundational biographical study in Christian theological education for over a century.
