The Secret of the Partner Next to You (Pre-Serialization)

The Secret of the Partner Next to You emerged from the burgeoning South Korean webtoon landscape, specifically gaining traction on platforms like Lezhin Comics. Created by the artist ChaeGun, the work was conceptualized to blend elements of romantic tension with the unique workplace dynamics often explored in contemporary digital manhwa. The pre-serialization phase served as a testing ground for the series' narrative tone, focusing on building chemistry between the protagonists before formal publication cycles necessitated a more rigid pacing.

ChaeGun's artistic approach is characterized by clean linework and an emphasis on expressive character close-ups, which effectively convey the internal monologues common in the office romance genre. During its development, the series was received with curiosity by readers looking for character-driven stories, establishing a template for the visual style that would eventually define the finalized serialization. The pre-serialization drafts remain a point of interest for collectors tracking the evolution of modern webtoon aesthetics and the iterative process of character design.
