The Works of Gilbert Parker Volume 9

The Works of Gilbert Parker were released as a multi-volume imperial edition in the early 20th century, specifically during a period when the works of the Canadian-born novelist were at the peak of their popularity. Published by Charles Scribner's Sons, this series was designed as a definitive, high-quality collection intended for the private libraries of affluent readers who valued handsome bindings and high-grade paper, reflecting the prestige publishing trends of the Edwardian era.

The design of the series leaned into the aesthetic of classic, traditional literature sets, emphasizing typography and durable construction meant to endure for generations. Gilbert Parker himself was a prominent figure in literary and political circles at the time, and these volumes served to solidify his reputation as a significant voice in colonial and romantic fiction. The series was well-received by his contemporary audience, serving both as a decorative element in home libraries and as a scholarly record of his extensive bibliography.
