Where it came from
They Only Remembered Her is a South Korean webtoon series authored by Ryu Heon, emerging from the vibrant digital landscape of manhwa platforms. The series is grounded in the popular fantasy and regression subgenres, which have become staples of modern Korean web comics. By focusing on a protagonist navigating a complex narrative of memory and forgotten history, Ryu Heon crafts a character-driven experience that resonates with readers who enjoy psychological depth layered over classic fantasy tropes.
The visual and narrative design of the series reflects a meticulous approach to the webtoon medium, utilizing long-form vertical scrolling to enhance the pacing of the mystery. Ryu Heon’s work is characterized by an emphasis on emotional stakes and the burden of remembrance. Since its debut, the series has been received as a compelling contribution to the webtoon industry, praised for its thematic consistency and the way it challenges the traditional tropes associated with memory-based storytelling.
