Where it came from
Tiger & Bunny -The Beginning- serves as a manga adaptation and reimagining of the first feature film in the Tiger & Bunny franchise, which centers on a near-future city where superheroes fight crime while sponsored by corporate logos. The manga was authored and illustrated by Tsutomu Ohno, who sought to translate the high-energy animation and complex interpersonal dynamics of the original Sunrise production into a cohesive print narrative.
First serialized during the peak of the franchise's popularity, the work focuses on the professional and personal partnership between the veteran hero Wild Tiger and the rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr. The design aesthetic mirrors the sleek, futuristic character models established by Masakazu Katsura, aiming to capture the series' unique blend of cynical corporate commentary and earnest superhero action for its established fanbase.
