Toaru Majutsu no Virtual-On is a light novel volume written by Kamachi Kazuma, published in 2016 as a crossover project between his A Certain Magical Index franchise and Sega’s long-running Virtual-On video game series. The collaboration sought to merge the intricate mechanical aesthetic of the Virtual-On mecha with the urban fantasy setting and psychic power systems of Academy City, resulting in a narrative where characters from the light novel series interact with pilotable giant robots known as Virtuaroids.

The volume features illustrations by Haimura Kiyotaka, who designed the character and mecha aesthetics to bridge the visual gap between the two disparate franchises. The design philosophy focused on maintaining the recognizable silhouette of the Virtuaroids while integrating them into the established magical and scientific framework of Kamachi's world. Upon release, the volume served as a unique promotional tie-in that preceded the development of a fully realized video game adaptation of the same title.
