Where it came from
Tomorrow, written and illustrated by the artist known as Llama, emerged during a period of burgeoning interest in introspective, independent manga. It was produced to capture a specific sense of transient urban melancholia, reflecting the creator’s focus on the intersection of human isolation and the rapid passage of time within a dense city environment.
The design of the volume reflects a minimalist aesthetic, featuring clean line work and a subdued palette intended to evoke a quiet, reflective reading experience. Upon its release, the work was received by the indie comics community as a poignant observation of modern malaise, praised for its atmospheric pacing and the deliberate restraint shown in both its narrative and visual storytelling.
