Tonari no Seki no Douryou ga Ore no Listener Datta Ken.

Tonari no Seki no Douryou ga Ore no Listener Datta Ken, written and illustrated by Mitsukoshi, is a light novel series that emerged within the popular Japanese subgenre of contemporary romantic comedy, specifically focusing on the intersection of workplace dynamics and digital hobbies. Published as part of the flourishing market for web-novel adaptations, the story centers on the protagonist's discovery that a seemingly ordinary coworker is actually the voice behind a persona he follows as a listener, blending themes of professional life with the nuances of internet subcultures.

The creative direction focuses on the lighthearted and often humorous misunderstandings that arise when private digital interests collide with professional office environments. Mitsukoshi utilizes this premise to explore character growth and the vulnerability inherent in modern parasocial relationships. Since its debut, the series has been received as a comfortable, character-driven addition to the light novel medium, appealing to readers who enjoy low-stakes, dialogue-heavy stories about hidden identities and workplace chemistry.
