The Family We Make is a notable work within the Touhou Project doujinshi scene, created by the artist CYCzen. Emerging from the vast fan-driven ecosystem of the Touhou Project, which allows creators to produce derivative works based on ZUN's original bullet hell shooter series, this volume explores the interpersonal dynamics and lore of characters within the Gensokyo setting. It reflects the common practice among doujin circles of reinterpreting established source material through intimate or character-focused narratives.
The artistic style of CYCzen is characterized by a polished, expressive approach that resonates with the broader aesthetic standards of the doujin market.
