Where it came from
TS Musume no BifoAfu is a manga volume by the artist Meriken, belonging to a niche subgenre of Japanese adult-oriented comics that explores gender-bending themes. The work emerged from the vibrant independent doujinshi culture of the early 2000s, a space where creators often experiment with radical physical transformations and body-swapping narratives as a way to explore character identity and social dynamics.
Meriken is recognized within the community for a distinct, clean aesthetic that prioritizes fluid line work and expressive character designs. This volume was developed to compile serialized stories or short-form narratives centered on the 'Before and After' concept of its titular subjects. Like many titles in this specific medium, its reception was primarily focused on enthusiasts of the genre, where it has been noted for its adherence to the stylistic conventions and thematic tropes popular among readers of gender-bend and transformative manga.
