Uchi ni Otaku no Neko ga Imasu

Uchi ni Otaku no Neko ga Imasu, created by the mangaka Mokariya, originated as a popular web-based comic series centered on the daily life and humorous interactions between the author and their pet cat. It emerged from the thriving genre of autobiographical Japanese pet manga, which emphasizes the relatable, often chaotic, and heartwarming nature of living with companion animals. The work found a significant audience online through social media platforms, where its short-form, slice-of-life vignettes resonated with pet owners who identified with the specific personality quirks of their own feline companions.

The physical volume collection captures the artist's gentle, expressive illustration style, which focuses on the distinct character traits of the cat while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic that highlights domestic intimacy. Upon its transition to print, the series was well-received for its lighthearted tone and ability to capture the small, idiosyncratic moments that define the human-pet bond. It remains a staple for readers who appreciate character-driven, observational humor that avoids complex narratives in favor of documenting simple, genuine affection.
