UNIVERSO Z

Universo Z emerged as a distinct entry within the independent manga landscape, written and illustrated by the creator known as Erpejo. The work was conceived during a period of experimentation within the medium, aiming to blend traditional shonen sensibilities with a unique, self-contained aesthetic that departed from mainstream serialized tropes. It serves as a personal exploration of narrative pacing and character-driven world-building, reflecting the author’s attempt to craft a cohesive universe independent of large publishing house constraints.

The design of the volume focuses on a minimalist approach to graphic storytelling, prioritizing raw, expressive line work over overly polished digital rendering. This stylistic choice was intended to lend the work an intimate, immediate quality that resonated with a niche audience of underground manga enthusiasts. Upon its release, it was noted primarily for its singular vision and the author’s persistence in maintaining creative autonomy, establishing the work as a respected curiosity among collectors of self-published Japanese graphic literature.
