Upotte!! is a manga series created by the mangaka Tennouji Kitsune, first serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine in 2009. The series is set within Seishou Academy, a unique environment where the students are personifications of various firearms. Kitsune’s design philosophy anthropomorphizes the mechanical specifications and historical reputations of these weapons into school-age characters, blending slice-of-life comedy with technical military trivia to appeal to enthusiasts of both anime and ballistics.

The series gained significant attention for its unusual premise, which focuses on the daily training and interactions of the characters as they embody the traits of the rifles they represent, such as the L85A1, M16A4, and SG550. While the reception was polarized due to its controversial pairing of firearms with schoolgirls, it became a notable example of the subgenre of weapon anthropomorphism.
