Wallace's Year Book of Trotting and Pacing

Wallace's Year Book of Trotting and Pacing was established in the late 19th century by John Hankins Wallace, a pivotal figure in the documentation of American harness racing. The series was born out of a necessity to standardize records for the sport, as Wallace sought to move away from unreliable word-of-mouth pedigrees toward a formal, registry-based system. By meticulously tracking performance data and breeding lines, these volumes became the authoritative reference for breeders, owners, and officials involved in the development of the Standardbred horse.
