WALLACE'S YEAR-BOOK OF TROTTING AND PACING IN 1903,: Containing Full Summaries of All... Trotting and Facing Performances of the Year, in W

Wallace's Year-Book of Trotting and Pacing was established as an indispensable reference tool for the American harness racing industry during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The 1903 volume served as a definitive statistical record, meticulously compiling race results, pedigree data, and performance summaries that were vital to breeders and owners who relied on the Wallace standard to track the lineage and speed of standardbred horses across the country.

The publication was the culmination of John Hankins Wallace's long-term efforts to standardize equine record-keeping, a project that emerged from his desire to bring scientific rigor to a sport previously hampered by disorganized data. These yearbooks are recognized by historians of American sport not only for their exhaustive technical content but also for providing a detailed snapshot of rural and agricultural recreational culture during the Edwardian era.
