Where it came from
Welcome to Full Moon Castle! is a manga volume authored by Youko Tadatsu, emerging from the shoujo manga scene during a period when whimsical, gothic-inflected romance was finding a dedicated audience in Japan. The work reflects the aesthetic trends of its era, balancing lighthearted narrative tropes with stylized, atmospheric illustrations characteristic of Tadatsu’s visual approach.
The series was designed to appeal to readers drawn to stories of mystery and supernatural charm, grounding its fantastical setting in the relatable emotional development of its protagonists. As a standalone volume or part of a small series, it was received as a modest but earnest contribution to the genre, praised by its target demographic for its cohesive art style and the author's ability to maintain a consistent, dreamy tone throughout the narrative.
