Yankee ni Deshiiri Saremashite.

Yankee ni Deshiiri Saremashite is a manga series created by Natsume Ringo, first serialized in digital and print formats within the Japanese seinen manga market. The series explores themes of delinquent culture and mentorship, following a narrative arc where a protagonist finds themselves unexpectedly tasked with schooling a 'yankee'—a character archetype in Japanese media representing rebellious or delinquent youth. The work emerged during a period of sustained popularity for the 'delinquent reform' subgenre, which frequently blends comedic tropes with character-driven development.

Natsume Ringo’s artistic style emphasizes expressive character designs that lean into the visual shorthand of the genre, utilizing stark contrasts to distinguish between the hardened delinquent characters and the more earnest leads. The series was designed to provide a lighthearted, episodic take on the teacher-student dynamic, positioning the relationship between the characters as the emotional anchor for the reader. It has been received as a modest entry in the romantic comedy and slice-of-life landscape, appreciated by audiences who enjoy character-focused manga that play with traditional Japanese school-life hierarchies.
