Zero Point

Zero Point, created by the mangaka Bei Xiang, emerged as a notable title within the contemporary landscape of independent manhua. Developed as a reflection on themes of existentialism and technological isolation, the work was designed to challenge conventional narrative structures through a stark, minimalist visual style. Bei Xiang sought to strip away superfluous detail to focus the reader's attention on the internal psychological landscapes of the characters, a creative choice that aimed to differentiate the series from more action-oriented mainstream publications.

Upon its release, the volume was received primarily by a niche audience of graphic novel enthusiasts who appreciated its atmospheric pacing and philosophical undertones. Critics frequently highlighted Bei Xiang’s unconventional panel layouts as a key feature of the design, noting how the deliberate use of negative space served to emphasize the series' core motifs of emptiness and origin. While it remains a specialized work, it is respected in academic and artistic circles for its commitment to a specific, cohesive aesthetic vision.
