Where it came from
Zombie Girl's Daily Life, known in Japan as Zombie-ko no Nichijou, began as a web manga series created by the artist Aoki Ippei. The series gained significant traction online through its unconventional take on the zombie genre, choosing to focus on the mundane, everyday life of a girl who happens to be an undead creature rather than traditional horror tropes or survival narratives.
The character design reflects a blend of dark humor and endearing slice-of-life aesthetics, with the protagonist often navigating common social situations despite her physiological state. The series was eventually collected into physical volumes following its success in digital spaces, and it is recognized for Aoki Ippei's ability to maintain a consistent comedic tone throughout the protagonist's repetitive yet evolving domestic struggles.
