Zombie-Loan

Zombie-Loan was created by the Japanese artist duo known as Peach-Pit, comprising mangaka Banri Sendo and Shibuko Ebara. Serialized in the seinen magazine Monthly GFantasy starting in 2002, the work emerged during a period of rising interest in supernatural and dark fantasy aesthetics within Japanese manga. The narrative explores the concepts of life, death, and debt, centering on a protagonist who possesses the ability to see the 'ring of death' around people's necks, leading them into a contract with a specialized agency that hunts zombies.

The character designs reflect Peach-Pit's signature visual style, characterized by detailed, somewhat gothic-inspired aesthetics and expressive character work. Upon its release, the series was received as a stylistic addition to the shonen and seinen markets, eventually spawning an anime adaptation in 2007. It remains noted for its blend of high-concept supernatural action with the thematic focus on existential duty that defined much of Peach-Pit's mid-2000s output.
