Where it came from
Zubora Joshi Datte Koigashitai! is a manga series created by the author and illustrator Orihara Touko. Published in the early 2010s, the work falls within the josei demographic, specifically targeting adult women with its relatable and often humorous take on the challenges of balancing a messy, casual lifestyle with the desire for romantic fulfillment.
The series gained attention for its candid portrayal of 'zubora'—a term describing a slovenly or lackadaisical approach to domestic life—as it pertains to modern femininity. Orihara’s character designs and narrative style were intended to subvert the idealized versions of romance often found in manga, offering readers a grounded and sympathetic look at personal insecurities and the realities of dating.
