Provenance

Where it came from

The Amazon character card (OP15-059) was released as part of the Adventure on Kami's Island promotional series. These cards were distributed during organized play events designed to celebrate the expansion’s launch, serving as a reward for participants who engaged in competitive matches during the release window. The set focused on the narrative arc of Kami's Island, a localized story within the broader trading card game universe, emphasizing themes of discovery and island-bound adventure.

The design of the card reflects the aesthetic shift seen in the Adventure on Kami's Island set, characterized by vibrant, tropical-inspired color palettes and a focus on character-driven illustrations. The artwork for this card was commissioned to capture the distinct, agile silhouette of the Amazon character, aligning with the mechanical intent of the card within the game’s meta. Upon its release, it was well-received by players for its thematic consistency and the specific utility it provided in the gameplay style of that era.
