Where it came from
The Brook (OP01-022) card was released as part of the initial promotional rollout for the One Piece Card Game, which debuted in late 2022 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Eiichiro Oda's globally renowned manga series. As a character card featuring the musician of the Straw Hat Pirates, this version utilizes alternate art to distinguish it from the standard card found in the base Romance Dawn expansion, offering collectors a stylized aesthetic that highlights the character's signature skeletal appearance and rock-and-roll flair.
The design of these early promotional cards focused on translating the vibrant, dynamic art style of the manga into a functional trading card format. These pieces were primarily distributed through localized event support and tournament kits, making them an intentional pursuit for players looking to elevate the visual appeal of their decks. The alternate art series was well-received by fans for its attention to detail and its role in establishing the visual identity of the game during its inaugural launch phase.
