Where it came from
The Carrot (EB04-013) card from The Azure Sea's Seven set emerged during a period of expansion for the trading card game, designed to capitalize on fan-favorite characters from the series' nautical arcs. The alternate art variant was crafted to showcase a more dynamic, stylized aesthetic compared to the standard print, utilizing high-contrast illustrations meant to appeal to collectors seeking premium visual representations of central supporting characters.
The reception of this specific card has been largely tied to its utility in competitive play, where its character abilities found a niche within specific deck archetypes. The artistic direction was led by the series' core production team to maintain visual consistency with the established brand identity while providing a collectible rarity that distinguishes the alternate art from the base set release.
