Dogura & Magura

Dogura and Magura were released as part of the 500 Years in the Future expansion for the One Piece Card Game, debuting in early 2024. This set draws heavily from the Egghead Arc, reflecting the series' shift toward high-concept futuristic settings and the mysterious technological advancements of Dr. Vegapunk. The cards serve to represent the diverse personnel stationed on the island, with these two characters functioning as minor but distinct antagonists within the narrative framework of the anime.

The design of these cards emphasizes the uniform, utilitarian aesthetic established by series creator Eiichiro Oda for the Egghead researchers and security personnel. Illustrated to capture their specific roles within the story, the artwork maintains the vibrant, high-contrast visual identity characteristic of the One Piece trading card line. Upon release, the set was received as a significant shift in the game's meta, with collectors noting the aesthetic cohesion between the card illustrations and the current events of the manga serialization.
