Gum-Gum Jet Gatling (Alternate Art)

The Gum-Gum Jet Gatling (OP03-072) was released as part of the One Piece Card Game's third booster set, Pillars of Strength, in 2023. As an event card featuring the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, it reflects the game's focus on translating iconic moments from the long-running manga and anime series into strategic, interactive gameplay mechanics. The alternate art version was designed to serve as a high-rarity chase variant, utilizing striking, dynamic illustrations that emphasize the kinetic energy of Luffy’s signature techniques during the battle at Enies Lobby.

The card’s design aims to evoke the emotional stakes of the series, with the alternate art style favored by collectors for its departure from standard layouts in favor of immersive, full-bleed artwork. Upon its release, the card was well-received by the competitive community for its utility as a powerful defensive tool that allows players to boost their leader's power while simultaneously removing an opponent's attacker. Its aesthetic appeal has made it a notable inclusion in the Premium Booster collections, where such variants are sought after for both their utility and their role in representing the evolution of the game’s artistic direction.
