I Heard the Sound...of a Lady's Teardrops Falling

I Heard the Sound...of a Lady's Teardrops Falling was released as part of the EB04 'The Azure Sea's Seven' special expansion set. This collection was curated to celebrate the nautical themes and emotional narrative beats of the overarching card game series, specifically highlighting the tragic backstories of key supporting characters. The design process focused on utilizing soft, watercolor-inspired aesthetics to contrast with the game’s typically high-contrast mechanical cards, aiming to evoke a sense of melancholy and artistic depth for collectors.

The card was designed by the franchise’s long-standing lead illustrator, who sought to capture a fleeting, cinematic moment within the game's lore. Upon its release during the official event, it was well-received by the player base for its unique atmospheric art style and flavor text, which departs from the typical action-oriented imagery of the set. It has since become a sought-after piece for collectors who focus on narrative-driven artwork rather than purely competitive utility.
