Where it came from
The Kingdom of Germa stage card was originally released as part of the sixth expansion of the One Piece Card Game, titled 'Wings of the Captain,' before being featured as a special alternate art inclusion in the 'Premium Booster -The Best-' set. This card represents the Germa 66, the militaristic royal family central to the Whole Cake Island arc of the series. Mechanically, the card serves to support the Vinsmoke family archetype by allowing players to search their deck for character cards, reflecting the theme of the Germa kingdom's relentless deployment of its genetically enhanced soldiers.
The alternate art design for this release emphasizes the thematic aesthetic of the Vinsmoke family, utilizing sharp, high-contrast imagery that aligns with the premium visual identity of the 'The Best' collection. The illustration captures the imposing nature of the kingdom's technology and regal authority, leaning into the darker color palette often associated with the faction. Upon its release, the card was well-received by competitive players who favored its utility in consistency-focused decks, while collectors valued it for the distinct, stylized artwork that differentiates it from the standard card game prints.
