Otama

Otama (EB03-012) was released as part of the Extra Booster: One Piece Heroines Edition, a set designed to spotlight female characters from the long-running One Piece series. This release strategy provided a thematic collection that deviated from the standard narrative-focused sets by focusing on the impact and presence of women within Eiichiro Oda’s expansive world. By highlighting characters like Otama, the set allowed players and collectors to build decks centered around specific character archetypes that might otherwise be sidelined in traditional booster expansions.

The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic of the One Piece Card Game, which utilizes a mix of original illustrations and key art from the manga and anime. The design for this particular card emphasizes Otama’s role as a support character, reflecting her unique ability to tame animals, which is a pivotal plot point during the Wano Country Arc. Upon its release, the card was well-received by players for its utility in specific yellow-color deck archetypes, while collectors appreciated it for its thematic relevance to the One Piece Heroines collection.
