Shark Submerge 3

The Shark Submerge 3 card, released as part of the expansion set The Dominance of God, represents a specific mechanical evolution within the game's competitive stage cards. Introduced during a period of thematic expansion for the series, the card was designed to simulate deep-sea tactical environmental advantages, favoring players who specialized in control-based deck strategies. It emerged from a design phase focused on increasing board state complexity and depth, aiming to provide a distinct counter-play option against aggressive rush-style archetypes that dominated the meta at the time.

The visual design of the card, identified as OP18-076, utilizes the stark, industrial aesthetic characteristic of the Dominance of God series. Illustrators for this set were tasked with depicting the submarine transition from surface to depth, employing a muted palette to emphasize the mechanical and atmospheric weight of the stage. Upon its release, the card was received as a nuanced, if situational, addition to the game, appreciated by competitive players for its utility in defensive maneuvering rather than its offensive output.
