Where it came from
St. Topman Warcury, specifically the parallel variant from the 'Carrying On His Will' set (OP13-089), originates from the One Piece Card Game, a tactical trading card game launched by Bandai in 2022. This card features a member of the Five Elders, the primary antagonists of the series, depicted with the distinct, textured foil treatment characteristic of the game's high-rarity parallel cards. The design reflects the series' long-standing aesthetic of blending intense character portraits with dynamic, cinematic backgrounds to emphasize the narrative weight of its central political figures.
The 'Carrying On His Will' expansion is curated to highlight pivotal moments and characters from the Egghead arc. In the development of this set, illustrators focused on translating Eiichiro Oda’s complex manga character designs into a functional game format, emphasizing the imposing authority of Warcury. Upon its release, the card was received positively by the collecting community for its intricate holographic finish, which collectors seek as a centerpiece for decks and binders centered on the World Government faction.
