Where it came from
Released as part of the Extra Booster: Anime 25th Collection in 2024, the 'We Are!' card serves as a commemorative tribute to the long-running One Piece anime series. The set was designed to celebrate the milestone anniversary by highlighting iconic themes, characters, and moments from the franchise's history. By featuring the title of the series' legendary first opening theme, the card functions as an emotional touchstone for fans who have followed the Straw Hat Pirates since their inception.
The design of the card leans into the nostalgia of the series, utilizing thematic imagery that evokes the sense of adventure central to the One Piece narrative. As an event card within the One Piece Card Game engine, it serves to reinforce the mechanics of the game while operating as a collectible piece of pop culture history. It was received by the player community as a quintessential 'collector's item' rather than a high-tier competitive staple, valued primarily for its sentimental connection to the legacy of the anime.
