Annihilape ex

The Annihilape ex card, designated as SWSH32 within the Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos series, was released as part of the wider Scarlet & Violet era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. These promotional cards are typically distributed through specific retail blister packs or collection boxes, serving as a way to highlight new mechanics or fan-favorite Pokémon introduced in the mainline video games. Annihilape, the evolved form of Primeape, made its debut in the Generation IX games, and its inclusion as a prominent 'ex' card reflects the shift toward higher-HP, more aggressive gameplay mechanics that define the Scarlet & Violet card era.

The card features artwork that emphasizes the ghostly, fighting-spirit aesthetic of the character, utilizing the distinct double-foil treatment common to the 'ex' rarity tier. Designers focused on translating the Pokémon’s signature Rage Fist ability from the video games into a tabletop format, balancing the thematic aggression of the character with the competitive requirements of the current meta. As a promo card, it was met with interest from collectors who prioritize character completionism, particularly those focused on the growing roster of Paldean region creatures.
