Provenance

Where it came from

Cynthia SV82/94 was released in 2019 as part of the Hidden Fates Shiny Vault, a sub-set within the English Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion. This card features an alternate full-art illustration of the iconic Sinnoh League Champion, a character originally introduced in the fourth generation of the video game series. The card was designed to highlight the high-rarity, collector-focused aesthetic of the Shiny Vault, which prioritizes unique artistic renditions of popular Trainers and Shiny Pokémon.

The artwork for this particular card was produced by Naoki Saito, a prominent illustrator within the Pokémon TCG community known for his expressive and vibrant character designs. Saito’s work on this card leans into a sophisticated, clean aesthetic that departs from standard battle-focused illustrations, aiming to capture the poise and authority of the Cynthia character. Upon its release, the card was highly sought after by collectors for its aesthetic appeal and the enduring popularity of Cynthia as one of the franchise's most revered figures.
