Provenance

Where it came from

The Fighting Fury Belt was introduced in the Pokémon Trading Card Game as part of the XY—BREAKpoint expansion, released in early 2016. The set was centered on the concept of BREAK Evolution, a mechanic where Pokémon gained boosted HP and new attacks. This specific Trainer card serves as a Pokémon Tool that provides a +40 HP bonus and +10 damage to Basic Pokémon, a design choice intended to make non-evolved creatures more viable against the high-damage output of Evolution-heavy decks common in that competitive era.

The card’s illustration was created by Toyste Beach, who frequently contributed to the Pokémon TCG during the XY series. The artwork depicts a stylized, rugged piece of equipment emphasizing the theme of power and resilience, fitting the aesthetic of the gear-focused cards found in the set. Upon its release, it became a staple in competitive play, particularly for decks utilizing Basic Pokémon like Yveltal or Zorua, and is remembered by players as one of the most impactful Tool cards of its generation.
